Styles Administration

You may have several Style templates installed on your Forum at any time. Having several Style templates installed allows your Users to choose their own preferred Style, that they themselves will see whilst on your Forum. Users have a Board Style option in their Profile, from where they can choose from those Style templates that you have provided .

From the General Admin - Configuration page of your Admin Panel, you are able to set a Default Style template (refer step #06). This will be the Style viewed by visitors, when they arrive at your Forum.

To view a list of those Style templates that you currently have installed, go to the Styles Admin – Management page of your Administration Panel. Many Style templates allow minor adjustments of colour and fonts, via an Edit option. You may also un-install Style templates, via the Delete option.

You may choose to override all Users Board Style settings. This is done on the Configuration page, by setting Override User Style to Yes (refer step #07). You would use this if you wish to maintain a particular look and feel to your Forum. You may have adjusted certain colours and fonts, or perhaps have a personalised banner, that you wish to always have displayed. You can achieve the same outcome, by only installing one Style template installed.

Occasionally you may find that after installing a new Style template, your Forum doesn't change. This is because your Override User Style is still set to No, and the Board Style in your Profile has a previous Style selected. But this can be a good thing. It allows you to test potential Styles, without your Users suffering unexpected Style changes whilst online, by using your Board Style setting to switch between templates.

Something completely different.

Although ForumUp has quite an extensive range of Style templates available, there is still the possiblity that we don’t quite have what you’re after. There are many sources of free Style templates on the Internet, that you can explore with a quick search.

Note, that you are not able to install your own Style template direct to your Forum, but you may present the template to us for approval, and possible inclusion in our selection. The prerequisites for this procedure are covered in more detail in our

. Once the template is on our server, you are then able to install it in the usual manner.
